Where does your interest lie? What areas are you gifted in? 1 Peter 4:10 says “God has given each of you special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God's blessing.”

Mission Team
The goal of the Mission Team is to raise funds that can be given to various charities and individuals in need. We raise funds through "Second Mile Giving" pledges and
various fundraising events.
This year, we had a "Taste of Pleasant Grove" Luncheon where church members and others in the community shared their best recipes with us. Along with the luncheon, we compiled over 200 great recipes into a church cookbook. This event raised almost $5000.00 which will be distributed later this year.
The Mission Team also sponsors the "Souper Bowl Sunday" lunch to raise money for the Society of St. Andrew.
We are now making plans for the annual Harvest Festival which will be held Oct. 18, 2009. This year's festival will include vendors, food, entertainment, trash and treasure, homemade crafts, and a health screening.
We will also be sponsoring children for this year's Festival of Three Kings, which provides a Christmas party and presents for children in need in our area.
In the past, the Mission Team has made donations to the Jimmie Hale Mission, Salvation Army, The Foundry, Heifer International, UM Children's Home, Babies First, Presbyterian Orphanage, Urban Ministry, Southwest Center, UMCSC, local nursing homes, Society of St. Andrew, missionaries Tim and Carol Crawford, Home Mission Fund, and the health rooms of 3 local schools.
We are thankful to church members and others who have supported our fundraising efforts. It is through their generosity that we are able to help those in need. If you have any questions or could help us in any way, please contact Virginia in the church office at 205-744-7171.
